How do you truly feel about The Sims 4? Why do you feel this way?
I truly feel saddened. I have loved the Sims series since the beginning and it was very creative with lots of ways to play the games. TS4 has lost a lot from the earlier versions – not only all the missing content, but the variety, the little extra details, the sims' personalities.
What are your feelings on the direction of The Sims? What do you think leads you to feel this way?
I feel that TS4 is becoming more aimed at younger people and is more shoddy, cheap and rushed. A ‘good enough’ attitude that is very disturbing.
I enjoy starting with a sim, finding them a partner, having a family and seeing new generations coming along. Taking away toddlers has taken an important stage of the sims lives away when I would really start getting fond of my sims. I like to form attachments to them and, if I can’t do that, then I don’t enjoy playing with them. I like unique sims that seem to have their own personalities, in TS4 they all seem to be the same.
What are your hopes for the future of the series and how do you think your hopes could be realised?
I had hoped that TS4 would bring us all the best from TS2 and TS3 put together. And I still hope for this in the future but it’s obviously not going to happen with TS4.
Do you have any specific or personal messages for the developers that you would like to share?
They already know what people want. My only words for them would be to ask them to start sharing with us. The silence is damaging.
